Our proposal

We sell a wide range of branded and private label products in these categories and also own various trademarks for specific product lines. We also sell sports nutrition products under license, for example through MET-Rx in the UK.

In total, we offer our customers over 9,000 skus across our ranges, including products from some of the world's most popular natural beauty, nutrition and vitamin brands including Centrum, Seven Seas, MaxiNutrition, Dr Organic and Bioglan.

We are proud of our extensive specialized training program...

...Which is unparalleled in the health supplement industry. Under our own unique "Natural Health Academy", our associates can obtain qualifications in the provision of health advice that are at the equivalent standard of "A" level and are officially recognized by the "Education for International Development" program of the UK Government. This is the first recognized training scheme to cover high street health, and associates are fully trained to understand the safety and contraindications of the products, for example use during pregnancy. Our commitment means that customers can confidently access clear and concise information to help them make informed decisions about products that meet their needs.

We have recently introduced our Healthy Expert Training which allows our Associates to further specialize in key areas such as Sports Nutrition, Natural Beauty, Supplements or Food.

Standard Stores – Our stores range in size averaging 1,100 square feet, with smaller standard stores selling our core traditional products in the supplement, fruit, nut and seed categories. Larger stores carry a wider range of health foods, including refrigerated and frozen sports nutrition along with a wide range of natural beauty products.

We want our stores to be full of discoveries, where our customers can touch, feel and interact with our products. That's why we've been introducing new features to the store for the past five years, including Pick n Mix stations with dried fruit, snacks and seeds, the Tea Bar where our customers can buy their favorite brew, and the popular oil and vinegar.

More stores: In 2015 we opened the doors of our first Holland & Barrett “More” store in Chester. These are the largest stores in our portfolio. More stores are designed to take the experiential element of our store proposition to the next level, giving our customers access to the widest selection of healthy foods and natural beauty products on the high street.

More stores introduced our new Deli Counter, offering a wide selection of olives and sun-dried tomatoes along with much more. The Natural Beauty area is also much broader, with a huge offer of make-up, cosmetics and hair care completely free of parabens, SLS and Microbeads. Customers can also customize their own products at our Make Your Own counters.

At around 5,500 square feet, More stores carry a wide range of vegan and vegetarian-friendly foods, as well as wheat-free, dairy-free and gluten-free products covering all the main Free From categories defined in the legislation, from gluten-free and dairy to allergies to nuts, eggs and fish. In addition, each Más store includes a Sports Nutrition area where trained employees can measure customers' Body Mass Index, hydration levels, and percentage of fat.

We currently have five More stores in Chester, York, Plymouth and Marble Arch.

When it comes to rewarding our loyal customers, we focus on offering them the best advice and solution possible. Holland & Barrett International launched its Rewards for Life program in 2011. With over 10 million members in the UK, the program is free for customers to sign up and offers four points for every £/€1 spent in store, online and directly. mail. Benelux also has its own version of the loyalty card.

Rewards for Life customers are spread all over the world. Making its UK high street debut, members now shop with Rewards for Life cards online from Russia to Gibraltar, from Lithuania to Kazakhstan.

2014 saw the launch of the Rewards for Life mobile app, which helped cater to a younger Holland & Barrett audience looking to collect points on the go.

We believe in innovation not just for innovation's sake, but in sourcing products to meet the health and wellness needs of our customers from the comfort of their main street. In 2015 we set our goal to become the UK's largest Free From retailer by launching the largest Free From food range available in the UK and the country's first Free From concept store – Holland & Barrett More.

To cater to the needs of the approximately 10 million people who suffer from food allergies and intolerances in Britain, our proposal listed 600 Free From products at launch with the aim of continuing the list to 3000 products, covering all the main Free From categories. defined in the legislation, from gluten and dairy free to allergies to nuts, eggs and fish.

This was not just a business move for us. One of the drivers for the new proposal was the personal experience of our former CEO Peter Aldis, whose son has a nut allergy. This experience led Holland & Barrett to partner with the national charity Allergy UK, which campaigns to ensure allergy is not a forgotten condition and provides advice, information and support to people with allergies and food intolerances.

Holland & Barrett International's welfare ethos means charity is big deal. Our own Healthy Hope Foundation supports the fundraising efforts of our associates across our business with a key focus on health and wellness, education related to health, wellness and the environment, and the protection and enhancement of the environment. atmosphere.

Every year we donate a large amount of money from various fundraising events to Rainbows Children's Hospice in Loughborough. Here, children with limited lives and their families can find care and support.

At Holland & Barrett we don't just want to be good for our clients, we also want to be good for the planet. That's why in 2007 we launched the Plan-it Green project to ensure that we are environmentally responsible retailers. We are very proud of our achievements here:

We were the first retailer to abandon plastic bags in the store, six years before the Government introduced the 5p charge this year.

We are the only national retailer to have introduced a full range of paraben and sodium lauryl sulphate free toiletries.

We seek to source over 95% of our products from suppliers in the UK to greatly reduce the need for sea and air freight.

We have introduced carbon offset initiatives with the Carbon Trust and have switched to renewable materials for all advertising materials.

In addition to these achievements, we are particularly proud to be the first national retailer to ensure that all of our products are free of plastic microbeads that have been found to cause harm to the oceans and the marine life that live there.

Our products are made with natural ingredients extracted from Mother Nature and, in return, we want to help take care of the environment. From waste, energy and the products we sell to the suppliers we work with, we want our impact on the planet to be as small as possible.
